How to optimize your facebook company page for seo

This is a guest post contributed by Ilyse Kaplan.

While Google+ is the most important social media site to be a part of because it directly affects your rankings in the Google search engine and your activity registers faster, Facebook is not far behind.  The Google search engine recognizes Facebook as a reliable information source and that amount of fans, shares, and reach of your Facebook posts all help to optimize your company profile page.  Many companies can be confused on the best ways to optimize their page while keeping their company image and integrity on track.  Read on to find out our tips on how to best optimize your page.

1)     Gain Fans

Gaining fans is of great importance for your Facebook company page, but can also be daunting.  You see some Facebook fan pages with thousands of likes and wonder how your company can get to that point.  The great thing about Facebook is they make it as easy as possible for you to gain fans.  The admins of your Facebook page are able to invite friends from their personal Facebook page to “like” the company page.  You can also gain more fans for the company by having employees tag the company page under the “about” section of their profile for work.  This gives more exposure to the company page.  Facebook also allows you to invite e-mail contacts to “like” your company page.  Since you can pick and choose who to invite via e-mail instead of inviting all your contacts, this is a great way to draw more fans.  Also, be sure to add a link to the Facebook company page in your e-mail signature.  An important thing to note is once you have 30 or more followers, you are able to see how many people your posts reach.  This helps you to determine what posts are most popular and what posts have been shared.

2)     Stay Active With Relevant Content

Once you have gained a following, it is important to stay active on the company

Facebook page.  With Facebook, there is no way to ensure you are showing up on the feed of all your followers, the more you post the greater chance you have at more people seeing your posts.  Also, the more your posts are shared, the more people they will reach.  While you want your posts to be shared as much as possible, it is important to keep your content relevant.  For SEO, it is a good idea to mix up SEO posts by sharing posts about what is going on in your city.  This can oftentimes reach a larger crowd and make your content share friendly to others.  A good tool to keep your content stacked is Buffer App.  It allows you to load your Facebook posts for up to three days and releases the posts when the most users are on-line, checking their feed.

3)     Facebook Ads

If you’re finding it hard to attract new fans, one option is to take out a Facebook ad.  These run from $2 up and will get your Facebook page noticed by “the right” people.  By the right people, I mean other Facebookers who show interest in what your company does.  Facebook is able to tell by what their interests are, what they click on in Facebook, and what they are posting on their own page.  Facebook also has the option of sponsored posts, meaning the post that you choose to be sponsored will automatically show up at the top of your followers’ news feed.

We hope these tips helped you become more acquainted with the Facebook company page and how to best represent your brand through this form of social media.  For more information visit www.searchtrafficpro.com.

  1. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout
of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one
or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?

Yes, I would like to redesign the site in order to make it more engaging. I am also investigating other themes in order to improve the layout.
